General Information

Class Minimum

A minimum of 8 students is required for a class to remain open. If a class does not meet

the requirements after 4 weeks, the studio has the right to combine classes and/or cancel

any class.

Private Lessons

Private and Semiprivate lessons are available and customized to particular skills of

interest. Private lessons can be booked and paid directly to the teacher.

Waiting Areas

❖ The studio has a monitor for each studio/classroom for parents that wish to wait

for their child during class.

❖ Monitors will be on for our Ballet/Tap Combo classes every week.

❖ Monitors for our 3 in 1 class, Intermediate and Advance ballet, tap, jazz, hip hop,

and contemporary classes will be available only on the first week of each month

for viewing/watch week.

❖ Please do not enter the classroom. Our staff is very experienced with new and

younger dancers. If needed, the teacher will bring your child out to you.

❖ Dressing Room – this room is for quick changes. Please do not let children play in

dressing room.

❖ Please leave lobby area and hallway free of any toys and food/drink items.

❖ No playing in hallway and any studio at anytime.

❖ We ask that all parents/guardians and visitors to be respectful and courteous both

of our space and the education of our students. Please control siblings’ behavior

and keep noise to a minimum. Do not disrupt class time. Our goal is to provide a

safe and positive environment for our students and their families.

ABSOLUTELY NO FOOD OR DRINKS WILL BE PERMITTED IN

LOBBY OR HALLWAY.

Dance Attire

We ask that all students to please be in proper dance attire and have proper dance shoes.

Hair must be tightly secured and out of student’s face. Please no street clothes. Please see

our website www.applausedanceacademy.com for the required dress attire for each class

type.

Picture Week

Dance pictures will be during the week. Most of these will take place on the day/time of

your regular class. Picture dates will be announced later in the year.

Recital Program & Ads

We will send out a packet with program picture spot and ad information costs in

November.

Awards

All our dancers will receive a trophy or pin each year, starting from first year

dancers to 10-year dancers! Dancers 11 years and up will receive an ADA pin.

Previous studio dance years will be counted. Trophies will be issued during

“Trophy Week” prior to recital. Dates TBA.

Holidays

We follow the St. Tammany Parish school board schedule for all major holidays. Please

check email and text messages for any unexpected closure.

Weather

We follow St. Tammany Parish school board, with any weather recommendations to

close. Classes will not be made up or reimbursed if canceled due to weather conditions

such as hurricanes, flooding, tornado warnings, and sever weather conditions.

Lost and Found

Any items left at the studio will be placed in a closet located in our studio kitchen. ADA

is not responsible for any items that are left, lost or stolen at or from the studio. Lost and

found items in closet that have not been claimed will be donated to the Habitat for

Humanity Center at the end of each month. Please be sure to retrieve forgotten items right

away. Label all shoes, clothing items, bags and water bottles.
